Anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, personal conflict– whatever the reason you are looking for counselling I know taking that first step is daunting. And you’ll only ever be ready to tell your story when you feel you are in the right hands. I aim to do everything possible to be that person through open and honest communication – working with you as a compassionate facilitator who will promote understanding and help identify the obstacles that are blocking your life. As an experienced counsellor I can help you gain a better understanding of your feelings and thought processes by using Person Centred and Psychodynamic Therapy to explore both immediate issues that affect the present, as well as looking at established patterns of thought, belief systems and behaviour stemming from emotional experiences in the past. My therapy is tailored around your needs to help you analyse the ingrained narrative in your head and heart, and develop self-awareness and acceptance. Because in order to change, or to feel things changing, you have to do, think and feel differently. As Henry Ford said “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t, you’re right.” – because more often than not it is our thoughts that create our reality. Through working with me we can turn the light of observation on you, look into the unconscious and the beliefs you currently hold, and through this awareness challenge these beliefs and subsequently begin to change. I will also provide you with key information, verbally and written, to empower your understanding of mental health conditions such as the causes, symptoms and treatments. Sharing this knowledge is just one more way in which I can help you on your journey towards healing and acceptance.

I work with adults (18+). My therapy is always tailored around your needs through continual open and honest communication. Talking by zoom, by phone or face to face in Wimbledon we will work together in a safe and empathetic space so that you can discover the solutions within yourself. Person Centred – This is a non-directive and empathic approach that empowers and motivates the client in the therapeutic process. The Therapy is based on Roger’s belief that everyone is the ‘expert on themselves’ and given the right conditions, everyone can fulfil his or her potential. Pyschodynamic Therapy – This focuses on unconscious processes as they are manifested in present behaviour. The goals are client self-awareness and an understanding of the influence of the past, predominately childhood, on present behaviour and thought processes. Additional Therapeutic Approaches – In the course of a counselling journey I may also use other skills and techniques developed during my training such as: CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) Gestalt, in particular the Empty Chair Technique, in which you can gain a new insight and perspective. Somatic Techniques – Breathing, grounding and other body movement techniques that help to calm the nervous system.

I am a fully qualified BACP registered counsellor working with adults (18+) either in person or by video link or phone. I have worked with a wide variety of clients from different backgrounds who have come to me with a broad range of experiences and difficulties. I mainly use a Psychodynamic and Person Centred Approach. But I also draw upon other skills and techniques developed during my training such as CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy), Gestalt especially his Empty Chair Technique and breathing and grounding techniques to help with stress, anxiety and trauma. I have worked with NHS clients within the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) Service and Secondary School young persons at Place2be. Prior to my career as a counsellor my roles in senior account management at Lufthansa German Airlines and Hertz Europe has also given me an in depth understanding on how work can impact on your mental health. Additionally, I have worked with two charities very close to my heart, Age UK and Young Minds which have given me valuable experience in working with older persons and young persons
