Clinical Psychologist
Therapists
I understand that seeking help is a difficult and courageous step to take. As a clinical psychologist, I am a specialist in the assessment and treatment of mental health problems and psychological distress. I have developed expertise working with children and young people and their families/carers, including those with Autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders. I am committed to helping people make meaningful changes in their lives through effective psychological therapy and have worked with a broad range of ages and complex presentations.
I work with kindness and compassion, and I aim to create a safe, trusting and validating environment to enable change and empower children and young people (including young adults). When I first meet children and young people, and/or their parents or carers, we jointly evaluate together what they may be struggling with and I help to provide clarity, develop goals and devise a treatment approach and plan. For me, it is really important to think about what is the life that the person would ideally like to lead and how to get there. Some of the approaches that I use and am trained in include: CBT, DBT, PE for Adolescents and Trauma-Focussed CBT, ACT and NVR (an approach to help parents of children young people showing child to parent/carer aggression). In addition, I offer Autism assessments with multi-disciplinary colleagues and have significant experience assessing and working with children and young people with neurodevelopmental disorders.
I am a senior Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years post-qualifying CAMHS NHS experience working across inpatient and community settings in North London. I am linked in with local Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists, Speech and Language Therapists, Educational Psychologists, Family Systemic and Child and Adolescent Psychotherapists. I am fully registered with the Health Care Professional Council as a Registered Clinical Psychologist, have Professional Indemnity Insurance, receive twice monthly Clinical Supervision and engage in ongoing Continued Professional Development.
Currently only Saturday appointments at West Hampstead due to other clinics being oversubscribed. Ad hoc online sessions throughout the week which are useful for initial appointments, parent consultations and developmental interviews. I’m really happy to have an informal telephone chat to see whether I can help you or, if not, point you in the right direction. Feel free to contact me via the email to set a call up.
