Therapists
I believe that the therapeutic relationship is a vital part of the healing journey, and I strive to embody qualities such as presence, empathy, and authenticity in my work. Through active listening and compassionate support, I create a space where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts and feelings. My approach is existential and integrative, allowing me to draw on a range of therapeutic modalities to meet each client’s unique needs. I find great value in exploring deeper questions of meaning and identity while also providing practical tools to address immediate concerns. I am passionate about empowering clients to discover their own insights and solutions, rather than imposing predefined answers. Whether you are grappling with anxiety, an identity crisis, or simply seeking greater self-awareness, I am here to support you. Together, we can navigate life's challenges, cultivating resilience and a deeper understanding of your experiences as we work towards your personal growth and fulfilment.
I provide a non-judgmental and empathetic environment for you to explore your experiences, regardless of their difficulty. My therapeutic approach is customised to address your unique concerns, offering personalised guidance and coping strategies. Together, we will establish therapeutic goals and work collaboratively towards achieving them. This journey will facilitate personal healing, self-discovery, resilience, and a deeper understanding of yourself, ultimately leading to a more fulfilling life. In our initial session, we will discuss what has brought you to therapy and identify the areas you wish to focus on. I will begin by reflecting your thoughts and feelings to enhance clarity, employing a person-centred approach. Through dialogue, we will also examine how your feelings manifest in the body, utilising principles from Gestalt therapy. In subsequent sessions, my approach will remain flexible, tailored to your evolving needs and preferences. Together, we will uncover authentic choices that can lead to greater freedom and happiness.
I completed the foundation course at the New School of Psychotherapy and Counselling (NSPC) and earned a foundation certificate in humanistic counselling skills and studies at Metanoia Institute. These achievements paved the way for my advanced psychotherapy training at NSPC, where I obtained a PG Diploma in Existential Psychology and Psychotherapy. This programme provided me with an integrative approach, emphasising existential philosophy, which resonates deeply with my values and life philosophy. With six years of experience, I have worked with clients across varying mental health needs in supported housing. In my role as a support officer, I was responsible for medication support, creating individualised support plans, conducting needs reviews and risk assessments, and preparing move-on forms for the London Council’s mental health pathway. This experience has allowed me to collaborate closely with a range of professionals, including social workers, psychiatric nurses, psychiatrists, and mental health advocates, enhancing my understanding of the complexities of mental health challenges. Building long-term relationships with clients has provided me with deep insights into their histories, risks, and individual needs. I also volunteered as a counsellor/psychotherapist at the City and East London Bereavement Service (CELBS), offering bereavement counselling to residents of Tower Hamlets, including patients at Barts Health NHS Trust. This role helped me cultivate a safe and confidential environment while increasing my awareness of issues related to power, diversity, and cultural differences through regular supervision. My counselling training at Terrence Higgins Trust and Positive East focused on providing support to individuals living with HIV and those facing mental health challenges. I am dedicated to offering a confidential space for clients from diverse backgrounds, including those from Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic communities, as well as individuals from the LGBTQ+ community. I have significant experience working with trauma. Apart from my private practice, I currently serve as the Counselling Lead at METRO Charity, where I provide counselling services to vulnerable adults, ensuring that they receive the compassionate support they deserve.
