I am a qualified Art Psychotherapist currently working in schools using play therapy and art therapy to help students to to overcome challenges in regulating emotions, thoughts and impulses that arise from neurological conditions such as ADHD and ASD. I have also been working with adults with learning disabilities for over 10 years within the community and in residential settings.
I adopted a humanistic approach to Art Psychotherapy. I believe a holistic person centered approach allows for the creative processes of the imagination improves integration of both conscious and unconscious aspects of the psyche.
I competed my training with Roehampton University and completed training programs with Place2Be. I have a range of interests in the therapeutic use of materials such a clay work, the sand trays and story telling. I am also a practicing artist who draws from influences found in Jungian theory and symbolic nature of the imagination.
