Therapists
I am a BACP registered counsellor who works both online and face to face with adults (18+) in Wimbledon. As part of my private practice, I also work as a counsellor with the organisation, Home-Start Merton, which is a charity that supports families with young children. I believe in providing my clients with a non-judgmental, warm and empathic environment where together we can explore the difficulties you may be facing in a confidential environment.
My therapeutic approach is person-centred and existential. In essence, this means that I won't tell you what to do or give you advice but rather, I will work to provide a space where you feel safe as the client to explore the issues you may be facing. Working collaboratively in this way can be beneficial in developing personal insight and understanding; helping you make sense of your feelings and the core values and beliefs you hold so you can determine what you want for yourself moving forward. I recognise that every person is unique and so tailor my approach to fit your needs and work at a pace that is comfortable for you. Ultimately, it is the relationship between client and counsellor that is most important in the therapeutic process so that you feel heard and understood in a supportive and empathic environment.
I am a qualified therapist holding a CPCAB Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and a CPCAB Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling. In addition to my private practice, I have worked in the charity sector including as a grief counsellor based within a hospice and currently with Home-Start Merton, where I work with the parents of young children that are facing difficulties. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and adhere to their ethical framework. I work with a wide range of mental health presentations with a particular interest in low self-esteem, anxiety and relationship issues.
