Therapists
I am a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist offering both open ended and short term therapy online and in person. My aim is to provide a calm, personable, safe and non-judgemental space for you to explore concerns that affect your everyday life.
Psychodynamic Psychotherapy attempts to understand how early relationships and patterns of behaviour can affect and lead to difficulties later in life. Often, the subconscious coping mechanisms we adopt can themselves become issues in our day to day lives. I work with a wide range of issues that might affect you, including feelings of loss, depression, bereavement, divorce, mid life issues, low self-esteem, work difficulties, feelings of hopelessness or emptiness, childhood and adult trauma, relationship issues, addiction, anxiety and many others. Psychotherapy gives us the opportunity to spend time thinking in detail alongside a professional about how we operate as people, and our relationships with others. In gaining a greater understanding of how we as individuals work, we can lead a more balanced and contented life. Together in a safe, non-judgemental and enquiring atmosphere, there is the space to explore and think deeply about yourself, and work towards a personal resolution. I practice both short term and open ended therapy in person and online, if more suitable.
I trained at WPF, where I gained a Clinical Qualification in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. I am an accredited member of the BACP, the FCP and the UKCP, and comply with the ethical codes of these institutions, alongside the requirement for ongoing supervision and professional development.
