Therapists

Hello, my name is Edom, and I am a BACP-accredited therapist who has been delivering therapeutic support to individuals for over ten years. I am trained in and apply teachings from different schools of psychotherapy, as I believe everything depends on the given individual. At the core, my approach is relational. I value the relationship between client and therapist and meeting each client as an individual. I aim to create a safe space where I can support you in exploring your difficulties, understand who you are and your needs better and feel empowered to make changes that support and enhance the life you want to live.

The process of therapy is about being able to make changes in your life, both personal and professional, through choice. It creates a safe, impartial and confidential space where you can explore the challenges you are facing, and an opportunity to grow through the circumstances that are encountered within your life journey. It takes bravery and determination to reach out to a therapist. The process can seem daunting, but what's important is for you to find a therapist you can build a good rapport with and feel safe with. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment, free of judgement, where we can gently explore together what is going on for you. We work collaboratively, with my role being to support you in finding your path. My specialist interest is in trauma/complex trauma and working with childhood abuse survivors. However, I can support you in working through a range of issues such as stress, depression, anxiety, existential crisis, life transitions, loss and grief, work-related issues, cultural issues, relationship and family difficulties and self-identity, to name some. Please feel free to contact me to book a consultation. It will give us a chance to explore what has brought you to therapy and for me to tell you how I work.

My own personal development led me to the world of counselling and psychotherapy. And I see my role as a therapist as a companion to walk beside my clients as they, too, cross bridges to new understandings of themselves and their life meaning. I have worked across various organisations such as Westminster Mind, Saneline, One in Four and Ealing Abbey Counselling Service, to name some, as well as having a private practice.
