Hi, I’m Burcu — pronounced Bour-joo. It’s a Turkish name that means “fragrance,” and while it was incredibly popular in the 1970s, I like to think it still carries a unique charm. I was born and raised in Izmir, a beautiful town on the Aegean coast of Turkey. After spending 40 years there, I moved to London with my family, where I’ve now been living for the past few years. I work in Turkish and English.
⸻ Psychological Counseling for Women Over 35 — Reconnect with Yourself Are you feeling emotionally exhausted, overwhelmed, or stuck in a life that no longer feels like your own? I offer psychological counseling for women over 35 who feel weighed down by the pressures of work, family, or long-standing emotional patterns. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, burnout, relationship conflicts, or a deep sense of dissatisfaction, you don’t have to navigate it alone. My approach is rooted in clinical psychology and psychoanalytic methodology, creating a safe and confidential space for you to explore your emotions, history, and inner conflicts at your own pace. Together, we will work to uncover what lies beneath the surface and help you reconnect with your authentic self. I hold a degree in Psychology from the University of Essex and have years of experience supporting individuals through periods of deep personal transition. My clients often come to me when they feel “fed up with everything” — tired of carrying the mental and emotional load, unsure where to turn, but ready for change. If you’re ready to begin a journey toward clarity, resilience, and self-understanding, I’m here to walk beside you.
years. My professional journey spans over two decades in financial services, banking, and consultancy, including leadership roles at global firms both in Turkey and the UK. I managed more than 150 projects, led diverse international teams, and supported large-scale transformations. But amidst all the deadlines and delivery plans, I realised that what I truly loved was people — hearing their stories, supporting them through change, and helping them rediscover their direction and strength. This deep interest in human psychology led me to retrain as a psychological counselor, building on my coaching experience and academic background. I studied Psychology at the University of Essex, where I’m now completing my MSc in Cognitive Psychology. I also trained as a Personal Development Coach with The Coaching Academy, accredited by the International Coaching Federation, and have delivered over 200 hours of coaching and mentoring to professionals navigating major life and career shifts. My counseling practice focuses on women over 35 who feel overwhelmed, unfulfilled, or stuck — whether it’s due to work, family pressures, or long-held internal conflicts. Using clinical psychological methods, including a psychoanalytic approach, I offer a safe, non-judgmental space to explore what’s beneath the surface and help clients move toward clarity, healing, and empowerment.
