In 2017 I relocated to Hong Kong for five years and moved back to the UK in 2024. Whilst in Hong Kong I worked in a clinic as a Psychotherapist. I have experience working with the expat community and an understanding of the challenges that can bring. My initial training was in Transactional Analysis, I have since trained in EMDR. Further training has been in a psychodynamic approach. I can also offer Supervision. My training was with Relational Change.

Psychodynamic Systemic Transactional Analysis EMDR

I have been described as an empathic, warm, and compassionate Psychodynamic Psychotherapist. I have been working with clients since 2012 both in Hong Kong and the UK. I work with clients to explore the underlying aspects of themselves that they may not be aware of, to understand how they see themselves, how they deal with others and see the world. I support clients to understand why they keep behaving or thinking in a particular way, or why certain things “keep happening to them” (for example repetitive patterns in relationships). I work together, with clients, to understand the influence their past experiences in life can have upon them in the present day as I believe that when a client has awareness of this, they can move towards changing these patterns of behaviour. I am able to see clients with a range of presenting issues, for example working with traumatic events, both cumulative and single events, anxiety, low self-esteem, stress, lack of confidence, struggling with decision making, grief, bereavement, relationship issues and life transitions. As well as psychodynamic therapy, I integrate EMDR, Eye Movement Desensitization Processing into my work with clients. As a UK-trained relationship/couples therapist, I approaches my work with couples with a focus on improving communication between the individuals, helping them to understand what is happening in their relationship. I adopt a non-judgmental approach, inviting individuals to collaboratively reflect on their relationship. I works with couples that want to understand the repetitive patterns in the relationship and work with couples seeking to identify and address conflict-driven patterns, recognizing that they may have different agendas. I support those wishing to strengthen their relationship as well as couples looking to manage and navigate the end of a relationship. Having previously worked as a qualified registered British Sign Language Interpreter, I can also work with clients who are Deaf and use British Sign Language.
