I work as an integrative psychotherapist, using psychodynamic therapy to look at how a client’s childhood has shaped their adult reality and using cognitive behavioural therapy  to manage thoughts, feelings and behaviours. I am fascinated by why we hold cognitive distortions, where they have come from, and how we can overcome them.

​

I also have had previous training in Transactional Analysis, a psychotherapy that promotes personal growth, autonomy, and improved relationships by analyzing communication patterns (transactions) and ego states (Parent, Adult, Child). 

My lived experience and my professional work in addiction and recovery support my core belief that we all have the capacity to change should we desire to.

I also, fundamentally believe, that active listening and empathy with other’s life experiences are the key to achieving good, therapeutic, relationships. By integrating psychodynamic therapy with cognitive behavioural therapy to explore patterns of behaviour and how thoughts, feelings and behaviour are linked, I believe that successful therapeutic change is possible.

I am  an empathetic and supportive therapist who remains focused on professional development.

I am BACP accredited and working towards senior accredition. I work within the BACP ethical framework and engage in regular supervision to ensure I uphold best ethical practice at all times with clients.
