Hello, I’m Orville — a BACP Accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist, offering both face-to-face and online sessions. I understand that reaching out for therapy can feel daunting, especially when you’ve been carrying things alone for a long time. My role is to provide a calm, understanding space where you can explore what’s been happening for you without pressure or judgment. Together, we’ll make sense of your experiences, uncover patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and help you reconnect with your sense of self. My approach is person-centred, which means you’re always at the heart of the process. I work with adults from all walks of life, supporting issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, low self-esteem, and life transitions. I believe that healing and growth begin when we feel truly seen and valued and that’s the foundation of every session we have. Clients often describe me as calm, genuine, and easy to talk to. Whether you’re facing something recent or something that’s been there for years, therapy can be a space to slow down, reflect, and begin to move forward with greater clarity and confidence. If this sounds like the support you’re looking for, I’d be glad to hear from you.
My approach is person-centred and integrative, which means I tailor the therapy to suit each individual rather than following a one-size-fits-all model. I believe that lasting change comes through a genuine, trusting relationship one where you feel safe to explore your thoughts and emotions at your own pace. We’ll work together to uncover patterns, beliefs, and experiences that may be shaping how you see yourself or relate to others. I draw on elements of humanistic, psychodynamic, and relational approaches, always keeping empathy, honesty, and collaboration at the core of our work. Clients often find that through this process, they gain clarity, self-awareness, and a stronger sense of empowerment to move forward.
My journey into counselling began from a deep belief that true healing happens when we feel seen, heard, and valued for who we are. Before training as a therapist, I worked with people facing complex life challenges — including addiction, loss, and trauma — and I saw how powerful it can be when someone finally feels understood without judgment. I went on to earn my Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Simms Counselling and Training and became a BACP Accredited Member. Over the years, I’ve supported clients in community, private, and residential settings, helping individuals find their voice, rebuild confidence, and move toward meaningful change. Through Set Free Counselling & Psychotherapy, I bring together professional training, lived experience, and a genuine passion for helping people rediscover hope and freedom in their lives. Whether our work is short-term or open-ended, my aim is to create a space where healing feels possible.
