Feminist therapy is, as the name implies, a therapeutic practice that incorporates feminist theories and philosophies into treatment. Feminist therapy is based on the belief that societal gender-roles strongly influence how people think, feel and behave. Feminist therapists seek to give their clients an increased consciousness on the presence of sexism and stereotyping in society, which they believe can be the cause of many issues. Clients are empowered and encouraged to self-nurture and seek balance and equality in life.

It can be hard to know where to start when life feels overwhelming. I’m Felicity, and I believe meaningful change begins in a relationship where you feel truly heard and accepted. My therapeutic approach is person-centred. I trust in people’s capacity to make sense of their experiences when met with empathy and acceptance. I am curious about how you experience your life and attentive to what unfolds between us. Whatever brings you to therapy, I will meet you as you are. I have experience in working with times of transition, particularly moments when life shifts, whether expected or unexpected. This might include experiences of grief or loss, becoming a parent, changes in identity, relationships beginning or ending, or periods of uncertainty about direction or purpose. I am registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) as a psychotherapist in the final stages of training. I currently have online availability on Tuesday afternoons. Please reach out if you would like to discuss starting therapy!
My website: www.felicitybrookpsychotherapy.co.uk
My sessions offer a warm, supportive space where you can bring whatever feels most present for you. Some people arrive with clear concerns; others begin with a sense that something isn’t quite right. Both are welcome.
The therapy room is a space to speak freely and at your own pace. I aim to support you in understanding your experiences.
Over time, the work we do together might open up new ways of understanding yourself. This deepening awareness can bring about change in many areas of life, from internal beliefs and self-perception to relationships and everyday decisions. Clients often experience more ease in trusting their own sense of what matters, feeling less shaped by others’ expectations and more able to respond to life with compassion and inner strength.

I am a fully qualified Integrative Therapist & Counsellor, and an accredited member of the British Association For Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). This means that I adhere to the BACP’s ethical framework, therefore ethical principles, values and good practice standards are at the core of my practice.
My clients are central to the work that I do and it is my desire to help others in healing and feeling fulfilled in their lives that provided my pathway to becoming a therapist. I believe in recognising and facilitating wholeness in my work with individuals and so tailor my approach to individual needs. I always aim to offer an empathetic, non-judgmental space in which you can feel safe to bring or discover your authentic self.
I am an Integrative Therapist, which means that I often utilise many different ways of working with clients, although most importantly, I recognise the significance of the relationship between client and therapist in facilitating growth and healing. I believe that the human connection offered in therapeutic spaces holds the ability to enable change.
Therapy has the capacity to be as unique as the individuals who seek it. I do not operate with a ‘one size fits all’ approach and whilst I draw upon my knowledge of research and contemporary therapeutic studies, I do not attempt to manipulate and squeeze my clients into said models. I always aim to truly see the person in the therapeutic space.
I work with a broad range of clients and content, aiming to make the sessions that I offer as accessible as possible.

I work with adults and young people aged 16 and over, who feel overwhelmed by anxiety, grief, low self-esteem or the impact of past experiences - especially those navigating life transitions, early bereavement, or the experience of growing up with emotionally unavailable parents. As an integrative counsellor, I offer a safe and supportive space where you can speak freely, untangle complex emotions, and begin to see a future with more hope, clarity, and self-trust.
Finding a really good therapist that feels right for you is essential. Taking the first step can feel daunting, but I’m here to make it easier. Contact me for a free, no obligation chat to se if we are a good fit.
I am informed by my professional learning as integrative counsellor, as well as my values and lived experience of bereavement, loss, migration, and single parenting. I especially enjoy working with young people and clients seeking support through life's transitions, and I have a significant experience working with neurodivergence, early bereavement, identity, anxiety and depression.
In addition to an open, trauma-informed approach, I blend psychoeducation, mindfulness, and creative exercises to empower you in your healing. This also helps you understand your body's responses to stress, fostering resilience and independence. Together, we'll strike a balance between nurture and challenge, creating a safe, supportive space for your growth.

I am a qualified psychotherapist with six years’ experience working with adults, children and teenagers. I offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood and supported.
Over the course of my career, I have worked with people experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including trauma and PTSD, anxiety, low mood, work-related stress, relationship difficulties, burnout, self-harm, and challenges within friendships and family relationships.
For the past four years, I have worked within the charity sector supporting teenagers who have experienced sexual abuse. This experience has given me a particular understanding of the impact that trauma can have on emotional wellbeing, relationships and a person’s sense of self.
I believe that seeking therapy can be an important step towards understanding yourself, making sense of difficult experiences and creating meaningful change. My aim is to work collaboratively with you, at a pace that feels right for you, and to provide a space where you can explore what is happening without fear of judgement.
I am an integrative therapist, which means I draw on different therapeutic approaches and tailor my way of working to your individual needs, experiences and goals. I believe there is no single approach that works for everyone, and therapy should be shaped around you as an individual.
I aim to create a safe, supportive and non-judgemental environment where you can feel comfortable exploring difficult thoughts, feelings and experiences. We can work together to develop a better understanding of what you are experiencing, explore patterns that may be affecting you, and consider ways of moving forward.
My experience includes working with trauma and PTSD, anxiety, low mood, work-related stress, burnout, relationship difficulties, family and friendship issues, and self-harm. I also have particular experience supporting teenagers who have experienced sexual abuse.
I work collaboratively and at a pace that feels manageable for you. Whether you are dealing with something that has happened recently, carrying the impact of past experiences, or simply feeling stuck or overwhelmed, I will work with you to understand your needs and identify what may help.

My interest in therapy is closely connected to my curiosity about people and the complexities of being human. I have a longstanding interest in philosophy, particularly questions of identity, meaning and how we make sense of our experiences. I'm interested in the ways our relationships, personal histories and wider social worlds shape how we understand ourselves.
I'm also interested in creativity and self-expression, and how these can be connected to our sense of identity and place in the world. These interests inform how I approach my work as a therapist, with an emphasis on curiosity, reflection and understanding each person's experience in its own terms.
My approach is psychodynamic, exploring how past experiences and unconscious patterns can influence our present feelings, relationships and sense of self. I am interested in the ways we adapt to life's challenges, sometimes developing patterns that once helped us cope but may no longer serve us.
My background in philosophy informs my interest in identity, freedom and meaning, while my work with people in the creative arts has deepened my appreciation of self-expression and finding one's own voice. I work collaboratively, with curiosity and sensitivity to your individual experience.

Do you need help with relational difficulties, anxiety, depression, or traumatic events? Seeking help can be difficult, particularly if you have learnt that you must endure your pain alone and silently. Counselling and therapy can be the way forward as a powerful release of all your private suffering, foster self-acceptance and understanding, to give you a chance to have a clearer sense of purpose and direction. As a BACP registered therapist, I am to give the best care to each of my clients, working to provide a psychologically safe environment where you can bring unattended injuries from your childhood, current struggles from work or personal relationships.
I bring my experience as a counsellor from working in various sectors, including NHS, private and charitable organisations, to offer you both short and long-term counselling. I have been working with individuals dealing with a broad range of mental health issues. I specialise in trauma, abuse, and infertility. I have extensive experience working with anxiety, depression, relational difficulties, separation and divorce, bullying, bereavement, low self-esteem, work-related issues, stress management, eating disorders, and issues of LGBTQ+.
My focus is the therapeutic relationship, working with the here and now. I draw on a variety of approaches to meet your individual needs and circumstances. We all need to be listened to and can work through our difficulties if we are given the opportunity to work through our problems at our own pace in a safe and confidential environment. My part of the process is to gently help you to make sense of your difficulties, feelings and repetitive patterns that may unfold. I honour the uniqueness of my clients and welcome the rich diversity of the individual in the spirit of inclusion and celebration.

I am Roberta Crescenzo, an experienced psychotherapeutic counsellor offering both short-term and longer-term therapy in South West London and online. I have extensive experience working with adults from diverse backgrounds and with a wide range of personal, emotional and relational difficulties.
My approach is integrative, which means I draw on different therapeutic perspectives according to each person’s individual needs, circumstances and goals. I offer a warm, safe and confidential space where you can explore what is troubling you at a pace that feels right for you. Attachment theory is an important part of my therapeutic approach. I am particularly interested in how our early experiences and relationships can influence the way we understand ourselves, relate to others and respond to difficulties in our adult lives. Exploring attachment patterns can help us develop a deeper understanding of recurring relationship difficulties, anxiety, insecurity, emotional responses and ways of coping, while creating opportunities for greater self-awareness and more fulfilling relationships. Alongside attachment-based therapy, I draw on Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, Gestalt, CBT, Transactional Analysis, Mindfulness and Transpersonal approaches. I work collaboratively, adapting the therapy to the individual rather than following a fixed model. My aim is to help you make sense of your experiences, understand patterns that may be affecting your present life and develop greater choice in how you respond. I have a long history of working as a counsellor and psychotherapist across the private and voluntary sectors.
I have a particular interest in supporting people experiencing anxiety, relationship difficulties, inner conflict and the pressures of everyday life, including those trying to balance their emotional wellbeing with working and family life. Therapy can be helpful for many different reasons, and there is no single way of approaching it.
I offer short-term counselling focused on a specific concern as well as open-ended psychotherapy for those who wish to explore deeper or longer-standing patterns.
Whatever brings you to therapy, I believe that feeling understood, respected and safe is an important starting point for meaningful therapeutic work. I place great importance on clarity, professional boundaries and ethical practice, and aim to provide therapy that is thoughtful, respectful and grounded.

I am an Integrative therapist committed to creating a safe, compassionate space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace, in a way that feels safe and empowering.
My approach is grounded in the belief that no single method fits everyone, which is why I draw from a range of therapeutic models - including humanistic, psychodynamic, and cognitive-behavioral therapies - to create a personalised experience that fits you.
Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, relationships, identity, or simply feeling stuck, I offer a warm, non-judgmental space where you can be fully heard, understood, and supported.
I work with adults from all walks of life and welcome clients from all backgrounds, identities, and experiences. Our backgrounds and social context play a big part in understanding ourselves, and as such my practise is anti racist, LGBTQIA+ and gender affirming, non ableist and anti oppressive.
As well as this, I believe in not censoring yourself, so humour and colourful language are welcome in our sessions in order to build authenticity, realness and safety.
I specialise in working with autism & ADHD in adults. I bring both clinical knowledge and lived experience to this area, and am passionate about creating a therapy experience that respects and celebrates neurodiversity.
If you’re looking to build a deeper understanding of yourself, build confidence, or explore new ways of living with more balance, I’m here to support you on your journey toward self-discovery, growth, and positive change.
I am an integrative therapist trained in Person Centred Therapy (PCT), Psychodynamic Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). These three styles help me to tailor the therapeutic space to your needs, and work with you as an individual rather than assuming a 'one size fits all' approach will work.
I believe in authenticity in the therapy room, and encourage a real, unfiltered version of yourself. This might look like making jokes and laughing, or using colourful language. I aim to create a low stress environment, where you can come in and not feel pressured to 'perform'. I don't expect you to have all the answers, just knowing you would like to change some things is enough.

An integrative therapist and authentic relating facilitator, I offer a reflective space for you to meet yourself, in a way that's uncommon in day-to-day life and has the potential to open up more choice and aliveness in how you experience the world.
Together, we turn towards what is happening for you—whether that is a particular event or relationship on your mind or heart, a tiredness, emptiness or disconnection, a stuckness or questioning where you’re going in life, or something else—with the intention of welcoming and being with it all. From there, we can explore and experiment with different ways of being that work for you, on your terms.
No matter how large or small your issue may feel, this is a non-judgemental space and all parts of you are welcome.
My practice is grounded in relational, humanistic, psychodynamic, and body-based modalities.

My name is Dawn (she / they) & I am a social activist art therapist providing arts psychotherapy & sex positive therapy to adults in West & Southwest London.
At the heart of my therapeutic work, I am grounded in integrative & humanistic theoretical approaches, & specialise in working in a trauma-informed way with individuals with complex presentations & trauma.
The majority of my work is with marginalized & stigmatized individuals / communities (forensic mental health, LGBTIA+ & sex workers).
The aim for therapy is to co-create a space, where you can be your authentic self by feeling seen, heard & understood - no matter the issue or theme you bring, finding ways to empower yourself in your life.
ARTS PSYCHOTHERAPY
The arts are an alternative approach to traditional talking therapy & can provide a deeper insight when it is hard to find the words for your experiences & feelings.
In my sessions, the seven art forms are available for you;
* Art
* Drama / Puppetry
* Sculpture / Clay
* Poetry
* Sand-play
* Music
* Bodywork / Movement
No previous experience or artistic skill with the arts are needed.
As first, the arts might feel weird to use to communicate your needs. To help familiarise yourself with the art materials, I will gently guide you to different media to find the most fitting way to explore your inner & outer world.
SEX POSITIVE THERAPY
In additional to my art psychotherapy approach, I also provide sex-positive therapy & work with sexual problems.
Using a bio-psycho-social theoretical model, I can provide supportive therapeutic interventions to the following areas;
* Gender, Sexual & Relationship Diversity (GSRD)
* Queer sex
* Kink, Fetish and BDSM practices
I can also combine my art psychotherapy practice to provide artistic ways to explore the above areas.
SEX WORKER FRIENDLY THERAPIST
I fully support sex worker rights, safety & decriminalisation of sex work. I provide low-cost therapy to sex workers (short/long term).
NUM packages (x6 funded therapy sessions) with me are available via the National Ugly Mugs website > mental health support > contact casework team.
SOCIAL ACTIVIST THERAPIST
Therapy is political & I do not shy away from social topics in therapy. I recognise the collective distress from global injustices, capitalism, mental health issues, social & cultural oppression may affect you in many areas of your life.
I believe therapy is a great way to explore feelings about your own social injustices, by finding ways to resource yourself and manage the discomfort / hardships this may bring. Through this exploration you may find ethical & creative ways to express this outside the therapy room too.

About my practice
With nearly 18 years of experience in psychoanalytic practice, I have had the privilege of working with people at different stages of life, from children and adolescents to adults and older people, as well as with mother–baby relationships.
Over the years, my clinical work has brought me into contact with a wide range of experiences and forms of psychological suffering, including depression, anxiety, questions around sexual orientation and identity, anger, grief, trauma, difficulties relating to the body and body image, and psychosis.
Each person I have worked with has contributed to my clinical experience and understanding of the complexity and singularity of each suqbject. Psychoanalytic work offers a space in which what is difficult to put into words can gradually find a place to be spoken and listened to, opening up the possibility of relating differently to one's experiences, relationships and ways of being in the world.
After nearly two decades of practice, I continue to value above all the encounter with each person and the uniqueness of their story.
If you feel that you would like to talk, or simply to have a space where you can be listened to, please get in touch.

Hi, I'm Shu. I’m an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, and I work with adults who may be struggling with anxiety, burnout, self-doubt, relationships, identity or changes in their lives.
Many of the people I work with are used to being the one who copes, gets on with things and is there for other people. From the outside, you might seem capable and together, while inside things feel very different. You may have spent so long meeting expectations or adapting to what others need that it’s become harder to know what you need yourself.
You might also know what it’s like to feel slightly on the outside looking in, or to feel that different parts of you belong in different places. Sometimes there isn’t one obvious reason for coming to therapy, just a sense that something doesn’t feel right, or that you don’t want to keep carrying on in quite the same way.
As an integrative therapist, I draw on person-centred and psychodynamic approaches. In practice, this means I don’t work to a set formula. We start with you, what’s happening in your life and what feels important to understand or work through.
The relationship we build is an important part of that. Therapy with me is a space where you don’t have to edit yourself, fit a role or be who others expect you to be. As we get to know each other and trust develops, there can be more room for the thoughts, feelings and parts of yourself that you might usually keep back. And gradually, being able to be more yourself in therapy can make it easier to do that in your relationships outside the room too.
We can also look at where some of your feelings or ways of coping might come from. That might mean exploring earlier experiences and relationships, or noticing patterns that keep showing up in your life now. It’s not about endlessly looking backwards, but understanding how your experiences have shaped you and what you might want to do differently.
I won’t tell you what to do or assume what’s right for you. We’ll work together to understand what’s going on, make sense of the things that have perhaps felt difficult to put into words, and help you find your own way forward.

I am a fully qualified Art Psychotherapist with extensive experience working with adults, young people and children. I offer both creative and talking therapy, with a flexible approach shaped around your individual needs, preferences and ways of communicating.
I specialise in supporting autistic, ADHD and other neurodivergent individuals, with an understanding of diverse sensory, communication and processing styles. If you are neurodivergent, my approach recognises this as part of your identity and way of experiencing the world, rather than something that needs to be changed or “fixed”.
Art Psychotherapy is an established and professionally regulated form of psychological therapy, informed by psychological theory, clinical practice and a growing body of research. It combines the therapeutic relationship with creative processes to support emotional expression, reflection and psychological understanding.
No artistic ability or previous experience with art is needed.
I am trained to work with both verbal and non-verbal forms of communication. This can be particularly valuable if experiences are difficult to put into words, if emotions feel overwhelming, or if thinking and communicating through images, materials, metaphor or sensory experience feels more accessible than talking alone.
You may be seeking support with a wide range of needs and experiences, including:
- Neurodivergence, including being autistic, ADHD or dyslexic - with support around self-understanding, identity, strengths, sensory needs, communication preferences, regulation and self-advocacy
- Anxiety
- Stress, overwhelm and burnout
- Depression and low mood
- Trauma and the impact of difficult or overwhelming experiences
- Grief, bereavement and loss
- Self-esteem, self-worth and confidence
- Relationships, connection and interpersonal difficulties
- Learning disabilities
- Change, transitions and periods of uncertainty
- Adoption, including experiences connected with identity, attachment and belonging
- Addiction
- Emotional wellbeing and mental health difficulties
- Infertility and fertility-related experiences
My approach is grounded in safety, trust, choice, collaboration and respect for your individual experience. I work at a pace that feels manageable for you, recognising that everyone differs in how they communicate, process emotions, build trust and make sense of their experiences.
No problem is too small. If it matters to you, it matters. Getting in touch can be the first step towards greater understanding, meaningful change and a different way of relating to yourself and your experiences.

You might look capable on the outside - but feel exhausted, disconnected, or like something is missing. I'm Naomi, a Creative and Embodied Psychotherapist based in London. I offer a weekly space to slow down, tune in, and come home to yourself - through conversation, the body, and creativity. West Hampstead + Online.
People come to therapy for many different reasons. You may be looking for a space to slow down and reconnect with your body and emotions. Perhaps you're carrying grief or trauma and need somewhere to be truly heard. Maybe you're a high achiever who looks capable on the outside but feels exhausted on the inside - tired of holding everything together. You might be navigating an eating disorder, PMDD, or a difficult relationship with your body. Or perhaps you want to understand yourself more deeply - to unravel the patterns beneath your choices, and start making ones that feel more authentically yours.
I work with somatic, embodied and creative arts approaches because words are often not enough. Through connecting with the body and creativity, we can find new ways to understand and make sense of our inner world - accessing feelings that talking alone might not reach.
Sessions might include reflective conversation, movement, imagery, breath, or creative materials - whatever feels right for you. We always work at your pace. There is no pressure to share anything before you feel ready, and no expectation of who you need to be when you arrive.

Hello, I’m Chandni. I offer a thoughtful, grounded, and accepting therapeutic space where all parts of you are welcome. I work collaboratively with people experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship and family difficulties, identity and belonging, and periods of feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain in life. I believe counselling can offer a space where you feel truly seen, and where your experiences and authentic self are met with interest, care, and respect. I offer in-person counselling in London, and Online and Phone Therapy. Alongside my core person-centred practice, I have undertaken specialist training in remote therapeutic work.
My approach is grounded in person-centred counselling, and shaped by the belief that being deeply listened to and understood can itself be transformative. I bring a considered quality of attention, creating space for reflection, emotional understanding, and exploration at a pace that feels supportive and containing for you. Through gentle curiosity and compassionate enquiry, we can explore what has brought you to therapy, alongside the patterns, experiences, or questions that may feel difficult to carry alone. I work collaboratively and respect your autonomy, trusting that you are the expert of your own experience. I understand that people do not always arrive knowing exactly what they need from therapy. Sometimes the work begins simply with a sense that something feels overwhelming, uncertain, painful, or hard to make sense of. Together, we can make space for this and allow the work to unfold naturally over time.

My path has been shaped by displacement: geographical (Paris, Hong Kong, Singapore, Auckland, Vancouver, London), linguistic (French, English), institutional (clinical psychology, rehabilitation centres, private practice), and, above all, subjective displacement.
Initially trained in Anglo-Saxon psychological approaches and having worked in settings where acute distress calls for urgent interventions (addiction, exclusion), I have, in parallel, entered the Freudo-Lacanian tradition in French over the past decade and now orient my work within a psychoanalytic framework.
Within the transferential bond specific to psychoanalysis, the work consists in sustaining a position that enables each person to encounter what, for them, constitutes a question: their desire, their singular way of being in the world, their repetitions, the mark of signifiers that affect them, and, as is so often formulated, that sense that “things are not going well,” “nothing works,” or “I keep going round in circles.”
I work with adults, in both French and English

I am a registered and experienced counsellor, an accredited member of the BACP with experience of working with a variety of issues and age groups, as well as over twenty years working with young people in education. I offer both long term and time limited counselling in a situation where we can work together on many challenges that you may be facing. I work both online and in person with adults and young people. I offer both talking therapy and EMDR and am always happy to discuss with you what would be helpful
Counselling can help by exploring some of the roots of present day difficulties and looking at new ways of self acceptance and relating to others. Sometimes it can explore a feeling that something is just 'not right' and you are struggling to connect with others or make the most of opportunities. I have experience in helping people through feelings of loss, or coping with changes in their lives.
I have also worked with those who feel they need to process past experience and trauma in order to move on successfully. In my experience, one of the most important features of one to one counselling is the ability to have a positive experience of relating to others and, the most important factor, allowing the chance of being listened to and understood.

Hi, I'm Joelle — an integrative counsellor working with people who've often felt like they don't quite fit the mould. I know what it's like to feel like an outsider, and that lived understanding shapes how I work: with warmth, honesty, and without an agenda to make you into someone more "acceptable." My practice is neurodivergence-affirming and LGBTQIA+ affirming at its core, not as an add-on but as the foundation everything else is built on.
Being integrative means I don't ask you to fit into one therapeutic model — I draw on a range of approaches and adapt them to what actually works for you. Some sessions might be more talk-led and reflective; others more practical and concrete, depending on what you need in the moment. I think of it less like following a manual and more like building the therapy around the person in front of me: your history, your neurotype, your identity, and the way you naturally process things.

Together, we'll nurture self-understanding, confidence, and sustainable change at your pace; honouring your sensory needs, communication style, identity, culture, and unique story.
No pressure to perform, just gentle exploration of what helps you breathe easier.

I trained as a psychotherapeutic counsellor and have additional training in supporting neurodivergent clients.
My approach is integrative and holistic, meaning I draw on different therapeutic models to address your individual needs rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
I work in a trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming way, while also considering how culture, identity, and wider systems may shape your experiences.
I aim to work collaboratively with you, supporting you to make sense of your experiences, reconnect with yourself, and find ways forward that feel meaningful and sustainable.

I am a qualified counselling psychologist and an accredited member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and Health Care Professions Council (HCPC). I have worked in NHS mental health services over the past ten years with people struggling with depression, low mood, anxiety disorders, relationship problems, self-esteem issues, loss, work related stress and other difficulties. I have helped people with more complex, long and enduring problems such as chronic depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, emotional intensity and mood instability.There are many reasons why people seek psychological support, perhaps you feel stuck in one or more areas of your life or you have noticed unhelpful and hurtful patterns of thinking and behaviour, and would like this to be different. You may want to better understand where these patterns come from and how they can be different. Often life can ‘look good on paper’ and yet you still feel unhappy or that something is lacking in your life. In therapy we can explore what might be underlying a sense of discontent or unease. Once issues are brought to our attention we can more easily make sense of what is going on, in order to think about how things can change. I offer a safe space in which we can think together about what is happening and bring a new perspective to your difficulties and begin formulating a way forward. Psychological research consistently demonstrates that the quality of the therapeutic relationship is the primary indicator of positive outcome of therapy. I aim to develop warm collaborative relationships based on respect, curiosity and acceptance.
Psychological Therapy
There are a wide variety of therapeutic approaches and treatment models and at times this choice might feel confusing. I am including a brief explanation but we can discuss this further to identify what might be most helpful for you.
Integrative Counselling Psychology
Integrative counselling psychology draws on humanistic, psychodynamic and cognitive models to focus on a person’s meaning making of their subjective experience. My integrative approach acknowledges the inherent difficulties but also the ever-present potential for growth and development in the human experience. It also allows therapy to be more flexible and inclusive according to an individual’s particular difficulties and therapeutic goals. This approach caters to both those who are interested in exploring the impact of past experiences on present ways of thinking and feeling whilst others may be after a more pragmatic set of skills to better manage those difficulties.
Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT)
Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT) is a time-limited, structured psychotherapy, with a growing evidence base in its effectiveness of treating depression. Typically it is delivered over 16 weekly sessions. It aims to help clarify the connection between presenting symptoms and what is happening in relationships by identifying a core repetitive pattern of relating that can be traced back to childhood. Once this pattern is identified, it will be used to make sense of difficulties in relationships in the here-and-now that could be contributing to psychological stress.

3rd wave CBT extends the traditional cognitive behavioural theories that thinking, feeling and behaviour are all active contributors to low mood and anxiety, which can be resolved by changing what we do, think or feel. 3rd wave CBT draws on neurological research, decades on evolving psychological practice as well as ancient concepts such as compassion and mindfulness to develop a new way of working. This approach focuses less on the content of thoughts and pays more attention to the context, process and function of these internal experiences. 3rd wave CBT can offer more pragmatic skills and strategies to support different ways of responding to psychological pain and distress. This type of therapy may be useful for people suffering from low mood, anxiety, high expectations of themselves, or a tendency to ‘over think’.
Relationship Counselling and Couples Therapy
Relationships are vital for us as humans and when they go wrong this can cause a great deal of distress. Attending sessions together to focus on the couple can be an opportunity to consider what might be happening between the two partners. The sessions are an opportunity to safely explore areas of concern and allow partners to communicate with one another to identify and begin to understand underlying conflicts. Due to the complex nature of relationships people may find themselves responding to difficulties they may have had in their past as well as current challenges and this is useful to think about as a couple. As in individual therapy, couples may enter into therapyas a result of a crisis as well as at times of feeling stuck or simply a desire to improve the quality of the relationship.

I'm a qualified systemic family and couple psychotherapist and mental health clinician with over twenty years of clinical experience of working in the NHS mental health services, offering support to families, groups, couples, young people and adults who are facing mental health difficulties, trauma and emotional dysregulation.
I'm registered with the Association of Family Therapy and accredited with the UK Council for Psychotherapy. I have an MSc in Systemic Family and Couple Psychotherapy. I currently work in the NHS child and adolescent mental health service (CAMHS) and eating disorders service. I also manage my own private practice.
I’m experienced in working with couples, families, individuals, adolescents and children, providing evidence-based psychological interventions. I have experience of working in Local Authorities children’s services, supporting many different types of families (nuclear, adoptive, fostered and blended). I work with families, supporting parents and care givers with understanding their child’s needs and connecting with them in healthy ways.
I also have extensive experience of working with couples, where there have been issues in relation to trust, communication and intimacy. I have experience of working with couples and families before and after separation and stepfamily joining, and where there have been affairs.
I am also experienced in working with families and couples in high conflict separations involving the family law system. I’m experienced in supporting families and couples through this process, which may involve liaising with social workers, children’s guardians, CAFCAS workers, family lawyers and in the preparation of court reports.
I also work with individuals and couples from the LGBTQ+ community and have experience of working with people who want to explore their identity relating to gender and sexuality.
I offer both short-term therapy and long-term therapy to couples, families and individuals. I have access to consulting rooms, and I’m also experienced in delivering therapy using on-line platforms.
My approach is warm, caring, compassionate and collaborative with people. I work hard to provide a safe, non-judgmental, confidential approach. This enables people to explore their dilemmas regarding their relationships with people, family members and partners, opening new possibilities and communication. My approach is influenced by attachment narratives and cultural differences. I have had the privilege of working with many people and families from a broad range of backgrounds. I ensure therapy is inclusive and adapted to your ethnicity, culture, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, age and disability.
My main approach is systemic psychotherapy, which is a strengths-based approach that seeks to help families and couples work through problems and difficulties together and work towards change. My clinical practice with families is informed by different models such as Attachment Based Family Therapy (ABFT), Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), Narrative Family Therapy, Non-Violent Resistant model (NVR), Circle of Security (COS) and Family Therapy for Anorexia Nervosa (FTAN).
My clinical practice with couples is informed by Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) and Exeter Model. Systemic psychotherapy focuses on how families and couples interact and relate to one another, and how they are understood and experienced by one another.
In sessions I work with people to explore their relationships. I work with people to unpick unhelpful patterns of communication - or issues of loss and life transition difficulties - through which dilemmas, distress, emotions and confusion can be resolved by identifying unhelpful thought processes and patterns of behaviour that may have developed over time, and may be contributing towards you feeling stuck and frustrated.
In sessions I work with people to improve their understanding in their relationships and enhance their communication, promoting resilience and change, creating new coping strategies - and the process of reconnection within the relationships of the people involved.
Research shows that having strong, close relationships leads to better health and more positive outcomes in life. Regardless of whether you are an individual, couple or family this approach provides a way forward.

Psychodynamic Therapist / Counsellor

I am a psychodynamically trained therapist. My professional journey has been rich and varied, spanning a career as a Commercial Solicitor and an Executive Director in the not-for-profit sector.
Like many, I have navigated my own life challenges and therapy has been a profound tool in helping me live more intentionally, making choices that align with who I truly am. This personal experience fuels my passion for helping others do the same.
I offer a safe, supportive and non judgmental space, where we will build a trusting relationship to explore what has brought you to therapy. Together, we will unpack your thoughts and feelings, gaining insight into how they shape your decisions and influence the way you live your life.
As a psychodynamic therapist, I believe that many of the struggles we face stem from early experiences that shape how we see ourselves, others and the world. These unconscious patterns can limit our potential and make life's inevitable challenges at times feel overwhelming.
In our work together we will look at those early experiences to understand how past relationships and patterns may have shaped your ways of thinking, feeling and protecting yourself. Sometimes, these early coping strategies no longer serve us well in adult life, especially in our personal and professional relationships.
I won't offer advice or solutions, but I will listen deeply, provide insights and gently challenge certain patterns of thought when appropriate. The goal is to help you reflect on whether these long held ways of being still support you, or whether they may be limiting your potential, by keeping you stuck.
Therapy can be challenging and at times painful, as we work through and process past hurts and difficult emotions. However, the process of becoming more self-aware, of living a conscious, intentional life rather than reacting to old patterns, can be deeply rewarding.
Our work together will be collaborative. In this space, all parts of you can be explored with curiosity and care. Healing past wounds and gaining clarity and agency, can open the door to you creating a more fulfilling, considered, self-compassionate and authentic life.
